MaGiCo! Webinar Series

MaGiCo! Webinar Series Schedule

Every one month, two speakers will be presenting on a specific theme related to Marine & Coastal Geology and Sustainability. We plan to start the webinar series beginning January and it will be a continuous series until May, 2023.

​

The themes for the webinar are inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by the United Nation (UN). We will work on at least three focus groups which are:

​

  • Academia, research and education (SDG 4, 9, 14 and 15) focused on knowledge transfer and upskilling.

  • Humanitarian (SDG 1, 2, 6, and 11) focusing on how geosciences can supports the objectives related to humanitarian pursuits such as water resource management, risk response mitigation on the impacts of natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes and infrastructure failures.

  • Industry related (SDG 3, 7, 13 and 16) aiming to analyze the role of industry in utilization of tools and techniques responsible for exploration and production of the earth’s natural resources particularly within the marine and coastal environment.
